After each having a week off, The Paradise Valley Trojans and the Kellis Cougars will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 19th. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Paradise Valley sitting on three straight wins and Kellis on five.
Even though Westview scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, Paradise Valley still came out on top. Paradise Valley enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over Westview.
Paradise Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlie LeVinus, who threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Another player making a difference was Elantae Fleming, who picked up 231 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kellis really took it to North Canyon for the full four quarters, racking up a 52-8 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-0.
Among those leading the charge was Tristan Bacon, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Bacon's longest rush was for an incredible 82 yards. Kellis also got a significant boost from Ronald Coty iii, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Their wins bumped Paradise Valley to 3-4 and Kellis to 6-1.
Paradise Valley strolled past Kellis when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 36-21. Will Paradise Valley repeat their success, or does Kellis have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
