Incarnate Word Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Angels, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Arisela Perez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addie Aleman, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Bridy McDavid, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Incarnate Word Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Incarnate Word Academy will venture away from home to face off against Geneva at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Geneva will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Incarnate Word Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they will take on Holy Cross at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
