Ithaca gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Riverdale Chieftains 21-18. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Chieftains recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Liam Rowin had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 206 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making seven total tackles. Ithaca also got help from Caden Keller, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.

Coming up, Ithaca is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Wauzeka-Steuben/Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
