The Ketcham Indians will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the North Rockland Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Ketcham had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Yonkers Force [Gorton/Roosevelt/Yonkers Montessori Academy/Yonkers] 45-28 on Friday. The victory was just what Ketcham needed coming off of a 42-0 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, North Rockland put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Mount Vernon as North Rockland made off with a 32-12 victory. Given North Rockland's advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Mount Vernon is ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gamie Sauveur was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Ethan Farrar, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Ketcham's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for North Rockland, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
Ketcham took a serious blow against North Rockland when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 34-0. Can Ketcham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
