Seymour has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Liberty Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Seymour will be strutting in after a victory while the Eagles will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Seymour didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Saukees, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Seymour's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 550th, while the Saukees are ranked 240th).
Meanwhile, Liberty was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 36-35 to the Wildcats.
Seymour is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-15 record this season. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Seymour strolled past the Eagles when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 53-34. Does Seymour have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
