Magnet Cove have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their contest against Poyen on Friday by a conclusive 35-6 score. That's another feather in the cap for Magnet Cove, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Magnet Cove got off to a slow start in their matchup last week, but they had no such trouble against Poyen as they cruised to a 28-point first half. Meanwhile, Poyen couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. The Magnet Cove defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the matchup.
Next week Magnet Cove take on Quitman at 7:00 PM. The squad will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Poyen, they will face off against Cutter-Morning Star. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
