Weeki Wachee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austyn Childs, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Dunnellon got the win against Seven Rivers Christian on Wednesday by a conclusive 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Kayla Bordelon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Aden Permar was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avianna Rivera, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Dunnellon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Dunnellon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Weeki Wachee, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Weeki Wachee couldn't quite get it done against Dunnellon in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 7-2. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
