After three games on the road, Eastern Alamance is heading back home. They will take on the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Alamance has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 379 points over their last six contests.
Last Friday, Eastern Alamance beat the Bulldogs 60-49. The victory was just what Eastern Alamance needed coming off of a 77-56 defeat in their prior match.
Eastern Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Thompson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aliya Trollinger, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Even though Cedar Ridge has not done well against the Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cedar Ridge secured a 37-32 W over the Panthers.
Cedar Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amiyah Ware out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. Ware has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Utley, who scored eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Eastern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Cedar Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Eastern Alamance didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Fighting Red Wolves in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ware, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Eastern Alamance still be able to contain Ware? There's only one way to find out.
