Volleyball Recap: Elsinore Wins Going Away Against Tahquitz

Elsinore won the last time they faced Tahquitz and things went their way on Friday too. Elsinore was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Tahquitz. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Elsinore was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-11, 25-9.

Elsinore found their leader in freshman Andrew Bermudez, who had seven digs and three aces. Sharrod Almoite also deserves some recognition as he had his first kills of the season.

Elsinore was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.

Elsinore's record is now 15-3. As for Tahquitz, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Elsinore Tigers face off against Norco Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Elsinore is facing Norco at the right time seeing as Norco is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tahquitz, they will square off against San Jacinto at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
