The Academy of Careers & Exploration Eagle's's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by Lucerne Valley at home to the tune of 58-16. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-8.
Academy of Careers & Exploration got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Marshall out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Rayden Rego, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Academy of Careers & Exploration's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lucerne Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4.
Academy of Careers & Exploration will look to defend their home court on Monday against University Prep at 7:00 p.m. University Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lucerne Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Silver Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Lucerne Valley likes a good challenge.
