After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Atkins, Hector was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. Everything went their way against the Danville Little Johns as Hector made off with  a  12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Sarena Myers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 11 batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Brayleigh Riley was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Those  runs marked the first that  she  scored this season.  Mylah Myers was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Hector's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Danville,  they are  on  a  23-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
 Hector and Danville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  matches. The next time Hector sees the field they'll take on Jasper  at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 31st. As for Danville, their break will end when they face St. Joseph  at 4:30  p.m.  on  the 31st.
