Triad proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three games in a row.

Triad pushed their record up to 20-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triad will face off against Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, they will square off against Pleasant Plains at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
