Plainfield has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Decatur Central Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Plainfield didn't have too much trouble with Mooresville on the road as they won 61-42. Given Plainfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Mooresville is ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Collin Schmidt and Aj Defur. Schmidt had a great game and scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Meanwhile, Defur did his best for the losing side, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Decatur Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 62-56 to Avon.
Plainfield's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Decatur Central, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
