Wrightstown hasn't had much luck against Luxemburg-Casco recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will welcome the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. Wrightstown will be strutting in after a victory while Luxemburg-Casco will be coming in after a defeat.
Wrightstown will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Marinette, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers walked away with an 8-3 win over the Marines on Thursday.
Sophia Garcia made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Molly Ruebl was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Bryn Amundson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Luxemburg-Casco faced Denmark in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Spartans fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4. It was the first time this season that the Spartans let down their fans at home.
Claire Schleis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Deprez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Wrightstown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Luxemburg-Casco, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Wrightstown couldn't quite get it done against Luxemburg-Casco in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 10-5. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
