Robertson and the Horsemen are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Robertson Cardinals will be playing at home against the St. Michael's Horsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robertson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matchups -- so hopefully the Horsemen likes a good challenge.
Robertson put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 76-50 margin over West Las Vegas. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-21.
Robertson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesse James Gonzales led the charge by scoring 17 points along with two steals. Gonzales has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mateo Contreras, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday St. Michael's sidestepped the Braves for a 46-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Michael's.
Robertson's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for St. Michael's, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Robertson ended up a good deal behind the Horsemen when the teams last played back in March of 2023, losing 66-49. Will Robertson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
