Northwest is 0-10 against Gaithersburg since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Northwest Jaguars will square off against the Gaithersburg Trojans at TBD. Northwest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Northwest took a serious blow against Clarksburg, falling 54-21. While losing is never fun, Northwest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Clarksburg is ranked 34th).
Meanwhile, Gaithersburg's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-45 loss at the hands of Seneca Valley. Gaithersburg has not had much luck with Seneca Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Gaithersburg, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Northwest was taken down by Gaithersburg 54-25 when the teams last played back in January. Can Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
