The Bridgeport Indians lost against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bridgeport fell 44-37 to the Buccaneers.
Buckhannon-Upshur was led to victory by Alyssa Abel and Casadie Lahman. Abel scored 17 points along with two steals, while Lahman almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Abel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hodge'nay Henderson, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Bridgeport has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
Bridgeport will head out on the road to challenge the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully the Indians like a good challenge. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they will be playing at home against the Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
