Another player making a difference was Evan Smith, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Martin County found their leader in underclassman Jordan Matthewson, who scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Tayvon Lee was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Corinth Holders' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Martin County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corinth Holders will take on Southern Lee at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Lee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Corinth Holders in North Carolina (Southern Lee is ranked 29th, while Corinth Holders is ranked 472nd). As for Martin County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pamlico County at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Pamlico County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
