The Loachapoka Indians can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 44-32 win over Billingsley. That 44-32 margin sets a new team best for Loachapoka this season.
Leading Loachapoka to victory were Jordan Tyner and Mitchell Chenier jr. Tyner scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Chenier jr scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Chenier jr continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Despite the defeat, Billingsley had strong showings from Kyle Boice, who scored 14 points, and Mason Truesdale, who scored six points.
Billingsley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Loachapoka's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-3. As for Billingsley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Loachapoka won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Beauregard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Loachapoka in Alabama (Beauregard is ranked 170th, while Loachapoka is ranked 427th). As for Billingsley, they will head out on the road to face off against Isabella at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Isabella is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
