Despite the defeat, Decatur Community had strong showings from Tyler Ostmeyer, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 blocks, and Brycen Ketterl, who scored 21 points. Ostmeyer scored a full 25.5% of Decatur Community's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Davin Jensen was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 4 steals.
Maywood/Hayes Center was led to victory by Haydn Farr and Jeremiah Ingison. Farr scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals, while Ingison dropped a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Ingison's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kody Schwenk, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Decatur Community and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
