Baseball Recap: Greenville's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Greenville had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Gentry Rams 17-5 on Tuesday. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ashton Dean was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ladarius Adkins and Bradley Nall did most of the damage at the plate: Adkins went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Nall scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Nall has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Quintarus Winters, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Greenville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Greenville's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Gentry, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Greenville will head out to take on Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gentry, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Greenville at 4:00 p.m.
