Junior Collin Guggenheim was a key playmaker for John Curtis Christian. One of the top players in the power rankings for the week, he ran for 112 yards and also punched in two touchdowns.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Archbishop Rummel (7th in the power rankings) and Jesuit (12th). Archbishop Rummel claimed a 20 - 7 victory over Jesuit. The win raised Archbishop Rummel up two spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Zachary not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Denham Springs in every quarter. The final score between Zachary and Denham Springs was a 62 - 20 blowout in Zachary's favor. Zachary's margin of victory (42 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. At 82 total points, this was the highest scoring power ranking game of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between East Ascension (14th in the power rankings) and Catholic-B.R. (4th). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
