In what's become a running theme this season, the Palm Desert Aztecs gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat La Quinta 83-50 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-23.
Palm Desert's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wil Wilson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with four steals. Coby Christensen was another key contributor, scoring 26 points along with three steals.
Palm Desert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for La Quinta, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Desert will take on Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rancho Mirage knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Palm Desert likes a good challenge. As for La Quinta, they will head out on the road to take on Palm Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Palm Springs' favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while La Quinta has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
