After four games on the road, Gulliver Prep is heading back home. They will take on the Monsignor Pace Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 41-14, which was the final score in Gulliver Prep's tilt against Carrollwood Day on Friday. Gulliver Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
Meanwhile, Monsignor Pace can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Goleman, posting a 45-2 win at home. The win was just what Monsignor Pace needed coming off of a 62-0 loss in their prior matchup.
One reason for the win was Monsignor Pace's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Shawn Smith and Davari Williams who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Gulliver Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Monsignor Pace, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Gulliver Prep against Monsignor Pace when the teams last played back in November of 2020 as the squad secured a 43-13 win. Will Gulliver Prep repeat their success, or does Monsignor Pace have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
