The Lassiter Trojans won the last time they faced the Pope Greyhounds, and things went their way  on Friday too. Lassiter walked away with a  47-39  win over Pope. The  victory was all the more spectacular given Lassiter's disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 212th, while Pope is ranked 97th).
 Lassiter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Sophie Hortman, who  scored 10 points along with 5  rebounds and 4  steals.  Malia Loadwick was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points along with 5  steals.
 Lassiter has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Pope, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
 Lassiter has the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Cambridge at 6:00  p.m.  on December 12th. As for Pope, they will head out on the road to face off against North Springs at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. North Springs comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
