The Galva Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 67 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 68-67 to ROWVA/Williamsfield. Galva has not had much luck with ROWVA/Williamsfield recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Galva lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being JP Sloan, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sloan has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cyrus Lilly, who scored 13 points along with four steals and two blocks.
Galva has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
Galva didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-35 loss vs. Mercer County on the 9th. ROWVA/Williamsfield will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Monmouth United at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th.
