The Rickards Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Chiles, posting a 78-35 win on the road. Given Rickards' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Chiles is ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Chiles lost, one person who can't be blamed is Faith Durden. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.7% of Chiles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Rickards has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Chiles, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rickards will take on Godby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Godby is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Chiles, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Madison County is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
