The Waccamaw Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 65-53 to Cathedral Academy.
When it comes to explaining why Waccamaw lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sutton Cooper. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Cooper scored a full 32.1% of Waccamaw's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrese Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Waccamaw bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Cathedral Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Waccamaw won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Johnsonville at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Johnsonville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Cathedral Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully South Brunswick focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday.
