Laney faced Ashley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Screaming Eagle by a score of  2-1. Having soared to a lofty six  goals in the game before, Laney couldn't push the score so high this time.

The  defeat snapped Laney's winning streak at three matches  and leaves them with a 15-3-1 record. As for Ashley, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-3 record  this season.
