3A Region II District 14 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Kaufman moved up to 461 from 531 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region II District 14. A 39-0 win over Mabank helped the Lions improve their standing.
Kaufman took down the Panthers 39-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Wills Point's dynamic duo of Chase Pemberton and Jah Golden proved tough for Canton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pemberton threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns and Golden had 64 yards receiving. Tre' Smith helped Wills Point's passing attack out by catching two balls for 52 yards.
James Silkey was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 165 yards on 19 carries as Ford lost to the Eagles. Jon Humphries also contributed to the rushing game with 92 yards on the ground.
Wills Point's Pemberton and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pemberton has thrown for 1225 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 29 catches for 505 yards. Taylor Sikorsky from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 716 yards.
Todd York's team led 3A Region II District 14 in scoring this week after putting up 39 points on Mabank.
