On Monday, GEO Next Generation was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Sumner.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quinniece Darby, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Jones, who scored ten points.
GEO Next Generation's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for Sumner, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-19.
GEO Next Generation won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Northeast at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to take on Amite at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
