Stewarts Creek is 3-0 against Wilson Central since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wilson Central Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Stewarts Creek will be strutting in after a win while Wilson Central will be coming in after a loss.
Stewarts Creek posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They blew past Smyrna, posting a 63-18 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Stewarts Creek has posted against Smyrna since January 26, 2021.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wilson Central's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 68-51 fall against Cookeville. While losing is never fun, Wilson Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Cookeville is ranked seventh).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jadyn Cooper, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Fly, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Stewarts Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Wilson Central, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-6.
Stewarts Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Wilson Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, winning 56-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stewarts Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
