LaSalle has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Northwood Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, LaSalle was the victim of a tough 72-48 defeat at the hands of the Tigers.
Northwood was handed a two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Wildcats on Friday. Northwood took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 69-41 win over the Wildcats. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Northwood considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.
Northwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jahari Mccoy led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Mccoy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ken'Tyreon Eddie, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
LaSalle has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Northwood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-14.
LaSalle didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Gators when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaSalle since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
