Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stanton). They never let the Ribault Trojans get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leah Joseph made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Emmalyn Gensch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Zariah Harvey was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Stanton pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Ribault, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
Coming up, Stanton will square off against Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ribault, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Raines at 5:30 p.m. on April 7.
