The Burlington Township Falcons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Delsea, falling 44-6. While losing is never fun, Burlington Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Delsea is ranked 13th).
Baron Davis and Quayd Hendryx certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Davis rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown, while Hendryx picked up 103 receiving yards. Hendryx hasn't dropped below 100 receiving yards for three straight games.
Burlington Township's defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 10-1 Hopewell Valley Central and 8-1 Pennsauken (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77% over those games). As for Delsea, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Burlington Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Delsea will take on Manasquan at TBD on Friday.
