While losing is never fun, Northstar Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while Wheatland-Chili is ranked 123rd).
Leading Wheatland-Chili to victory were Jaden Schwenebraten and Leighton Williams. Schwenebraten scored 29 points, while Williams scored 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season.
Northstar Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Wheatland-Chili, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northstar Christian Academy will square off against Lyons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lyons will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Northstar Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wheatland-Chili, they will head out on the road to face off against Alexander at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheatland-Chili has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
