Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pinnacle walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Hamilton Huskies on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kodi Crabtree spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Payton Crank was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Torynn Slaughter, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Pinnacle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only posted a batting average of .125.
Pinnacle is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-9-1.
Pinnacle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hamilton has already played their next match (against Basha), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
