The Ralston Rams can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Louisville 48-46. The win was just what Ralston needed coming off of a 71-25 defeat in their prior contest.
Deacon Courtney was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The matchup was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Davinchi Gray, who scored ten points along with five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Louisville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sam Luellen. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cash Biesterfeld, who scored eight points.
Ralston's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Louisville, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Ralston won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McCook at 5:15 p.m. on December 29th. McCook will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Louisville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Nebraska City at 1:45 p.m. on December 29th. Nebraska City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Louisville is ranked 95th).
