Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Bishop Rosecrans' Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Bishop Rosecrans never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Harvest Prep Warriors 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Bishops, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hayden Perdue made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other pitching news, Jacobie Balo and Coen Grandstaff dominated on the mound. Balo went 3-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases, while Grandstaff went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. Grandstaff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Kohen Harris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Titan Grandstaff, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Bishop Rosecrans kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Bishop Rosecrans has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harvest Prep, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Rosecrans will face off against rival Fairfield Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bishops 3.3, the Knights 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Harvest Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Berne Union at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
