Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Academy Beats San Jacinto Valley Academy for Their Sixth Straight Win

Desert Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves 77-53. The Conquerors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 24 points or more this season.

Desert Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Augustine Youssef, who went 9 of 17 en route to 23 points and seven boards. Youssef is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 26 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Garrison, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Despite the loss, San Jacinto Valley Academy still got an impressive performance from Day Edwards, who posted 22 points. Another player making a difference was Steven Abbott, who put up ten points.

Desert Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Christian Academy will challenge Temecula Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Temecula Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Desert Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they will square off against San Jacinto Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Jacinto Leadership Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something San Jacinto Valley Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
