After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ridgeview, Unity Christian was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Meridian Hawks as Unity Christian made off with a 19-13 win. The Lions not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024.
Unity Christian got a massive performance out of Zach Hesse, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five RBI, one run, and one double. What's more, Hesse posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gage Raffety, who went 4-for-6 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Unity Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They got six more hits than Meridian's also-impressive total of 11.
The victory got Unity Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Meridian, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unity Christian will venture away from home to take on Fisher at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meridian, they will square off against Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
