The Dakota Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 79-44 victory over Dell Rapids. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Emersen Mead was a one-man wrecking crew for Dakota Valley as she almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mead has scored all season. Cameryn Sommervold was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Dakota Valley's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Dell Rapids, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Dakota Valley will head out on the road to square off against Groton at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Groton is coming into the contest with five straight defeats at home, meaning Dakota Valley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Dell Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
