The Brick Township Green Dragons can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 31-7 margin over Steinert.
Leading Brick Township to victory were Jayden Johnson and Travis Trempy. Johnson gained 114 total yards and a touchdown, while Trempy rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Johnson's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Another reason for the win was Brick Township's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Trempy and his two sacks.
Brick Township now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Steinert, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brick Township will challenge Clearview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clearview will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Steinert will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Red Bank Regional at 6:30 p.m. on November 8th. Red Bank Regional is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
