Hopefully First Presbyterian Day focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday.
Last Thursday, First Presbyterian Day was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Robert Toombs Christian Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points First Presbyterian Day has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Reynolds Handberry, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Wyatt Waters was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Eagle's Landing Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 72-47 margin over Locust Grove. Given Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Locust Grove is ranked 434th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
First Presbyterian Day now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
First Presbyterian Day came up short against Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 71-61. Can First Presbyterian Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
