The Miller Cardinals will head out on the road to take on Father Tolton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miller has four straight victories, Father Tolton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
A well-balanced attack led Miller over Stockton in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Miller enjoyed a cozy 50-31 win over Stockton. Given Miller's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Stockton is ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Miller found their leader in underclassman Rachel Nunez, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Nunez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. Loghann Leivan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Father Tolton, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to Cardinal Ritter College Prep on Tuesday.
Miller is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Father Tolton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
