The Kaufman Lions won the last time they faced the Greenville Lions, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Kaufman really took it to Greenville for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-22 win on the road. Given Kaufman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Greenville is ranked 1282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaufman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Wrenn, who scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Wrenn's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lillie Reven, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Kaufman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Greenville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Kaufman is on the road again on Thursday and play against Martins Mill at 1:15 p.m. on December 7th. Martins Mill's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Kaufman's offense will have their work cut out for Kaufman. As for Greenville, they will head out on the road to face off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Paris is on a three-game streak of home losses, Greenville a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
