Basketball Recap: Jayquan Freeman Key Part of a Team Effort in Biggie Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Thomas Aquinas, Hialeah Educational Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the NSU University Sharks by a score of 60-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Biggie also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Hialeah Educational Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayquan Freeman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, Freeman is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Josiah Brooks was another key player, putting up 20 points.

When it comes to explaining why NSU University lost, don't look at Sean Jones. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 16 on his way to 24 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Xavier Osecola, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.

Hialeah Educational Academy's record now sits at 10-5. As for NSU University, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Hialeah Educational Academy has already played their next matchup, a 55-36 victory against North Broward Prep on the 9th. As for NSU University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-34 win against Monsignor Pace on the 9th.
