Two dominant in Levi Carrington and Peter Ciardiello are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Calvary Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grace Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Calvary Christian Academy came up short against Paw Paw and fell 57-48. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 242nd in Maryland, while Paw Paw is ranked 63rd in West Virginia).
Meanwhile, Grace Academy pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to GVCS Broadfording 69-65. Grace Academy has not had much luck with GVCS Broadfording recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Grace Academy had strong showings from Ciardiello, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Carson Feeser, who scored 25 points along with two steals. That was a full 33.8% of Grace Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ronan Casey was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
This is the second loss in a row for Calvary Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Grace Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
