Yorktown and Langley are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Yorktown Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Langley Saxons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Yorktown strolled past Herndon with points to spare, taking the game 56-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Yorktown.
It was another big night for Andrew Maria, who scored 11 points. Gavin Dougherty was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Langley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on Washington-Liberty with a sharp 61-38 win. That looming 61-38 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Langley yet this season.
Yorktown pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Langley, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Yorktown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Langley in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory. Will Yorktown repeat their success, or does Langley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
