Doyle pushed their record up to 8-14-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Doyle's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Springfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Doyle, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Springfield's hitters?
